Staff member publishes new advanced text on monetary policy

Associate Professor Alfred Guender’s Optimal Monetary Policy under Uncertainty has just been published by Edward Elgar, Cheltenham, UK. Jointly written with Professor Richard Froyen of the University of North Carolina, the book provides extensive coverage of policy issues in the conduct of monetary policy under uncertainty. Suitable for advanced undergraduate students, graduate students, and professional economists, the book pays particular attention to analyzing the conduct of optimal monetary policy in both the open and closed economy framework. Casting a wide net, the authors survey the recent literature on the New Keynesian approach to optimal monetary policy in the context of the earlier literature.
